Colors of the Day

 Steiner talked about rhythm of our days and weeks as being important for growth and developement. He also beilieved that color corresponds with our "feeling" life.

A lovely way to have  rhythm in our lives is to observe and perhaps implement a "color of the day" as is done in Waldorf early childhood settings.

The days go like this:

Monday is purple.

Tuesday is red.

In 2012 we resolve to:

  • play more
  • build forts
  • create seasonal nature tables
  • dress to please ourselves (in silk, wool, cotton, and linen)

How Silk is Made

Sustainable

 

Here is a link to a good place to buy some silk worm eggs. It is a very fun project to do with kids, at home or in a classroom. If you don't have any Mulberry trees nearby you should order some mulberry mash from these people too.
