Peek-a-boo! Fun to Play with Babies & They're Learning Too
Peek-a-boo!
Peek-a-boo is an important game for young children as they’re still learning the concept of object permanence. They're also experiencing safe separation as babies genuinely believe that their loved one has disappeared when they can't see them anymore. You might hear in this video baby E gasp when the playsilk covers him and then he squeals in delight when he sees his loved one again. As parents we naturally play peek-a-boo with our kids. I remember when my kids would laugh with delight when we played with our silks.
This game is great for siblings or multiple adults as you can switch up who surprises the baby when the playsilk floats away.
If you don’t know this song here are the lyrics. Enjoy singing with your children.
xoxo Sarah
LYRICS:
Oh Mr Sun, Sun,
Mr golden Sun,
Please shine down on me.
Oh Mr Sun, Sun,
Mr golden Sun,
Hiding behind those trees.
These children are asking you,
To please come out so we can play with you.
Oh Mr Sun, Sun,
Mr golden Sun,
Please shine down on me.
Beautiful video! We are ordering our first set through Amazon for Easter. Our oldest love to play with the baby and peek a boo is his favorite. He is also in love with bright colors and we can’t wait to see how he does with the dolls. We will also make forts using the clips!

I’ve been eyeing Sarah’s silks since before my baby was born. She’s now 18 months and we just bought her first rainbow silk and she loves it!!! So excited to purchase more, especially with baby number 2 on the way!!! Endless fun!!!

We dont own any playsilks yet, but really love the thought of them and I know different fabrics is fun to play with and opens up the fantasy. As of now we use a large feather to play peek-a-boo with and tickle our littlec3 mint twins with. The older siblings are 3 and 4 loves when they giggle.

Aww. So sweet! We all play a lot of peek a boo around here. I love that my older kids get such big squeals out of their baby brother playing peek a boo!!! It’s so simple and so sweet. And my first grader just sang this song for his Easter choir concert at school and it melted my ❤️.

We like to cover ourselves with the playsilks next to an open window. Night sky is currently our favorite! My 9 month old son loves reaching and cooing at the stars. Our favorite, “peek” game is an adult will hold or lay down next to the child and hold the playsilk up high and then let go & the children are mesmerized and giggling as it falls down on their faces and Mama will “boo” them back into reality. Lots of fun!

We love our play silks. This is how we first started to play peak-a-boo. Now my son 11 months old will play back. He loves the feel of the silks on his skin. We love our Sarah’s silks!

We play peek-a-boo on mommy’s head, and baby pulls off the scarf! We love play based learning.

My grandchild laughs when I tie the silk in my hair and he tries to get it out! Hide and seek with objects too! Plus peekaboo.
